When I was a freshman in Highschool I decided to start playing basketball. I was horrible. I didn't know how to dribble, shoot, box out, or what a free throw was. The one thing I could do was set a screen.
Tonight our girls played against St. Paul at St. Paul. We played great but still lost. That gym was where I played my first basketball game. I'm pretty sure the first five times I touched the ball I traveled. I didn't know that if you jump to shoot the ball and someone was in your way, you can't land with the ball. You have to pass it or shoot.
Thankfully I did get better and ended up becoming a starter as a senior. My coach gave me the "Most Improved" award as a senior because when I was a freshman he said I'd never be a baller and I proved him wrong. I'll take that as a compliment...?
Also, as I was working I looked over at my animals all passed out on the floor. I was extremely jealous. I wanted to nap too.
