Day 318 - Power Tools

Husband and I bought this big kennel for the dogs a few weeks ago so that we could leave them for a few hours and not feel bad about them being cooped up in the tiny kennels. Well. My dogs are just a headache.
#1 The latch is too flimsy to keep my 70+ pound dogs in.
#2 Zip ties don't help because the dogs chew them into tiny bits.
#3 A chain wrapped around the bars to keep the door shut held up until the dogs busted a hole in the chain link and escaped.

*Deep breath* - I don't think I need to elaborate much more on how upset their shenanigans make me. #3 happened when I got home from basketball practice. I may have thrown a fit. I may have made a mess finding all of husband's tools (that are never in the same place). I may have used an electric saw all by myself with no supervision for the first time. I may have pitched another fit when not one but two power drills died on me and I couldn't find a new battery for either of them. I may have used a screw driver and hammer to chisel four holes into the plywood.

Husband got home and fixed my makeshift door in less than 10 minutes. I managed to keep my cool, until he told me that "unless you know how to use the power tools, don't."

I feel like I may need to prove/redeem myself.

Until then here are the pics of my handiwork next to husband's. In my defense husband used the same piece of plywood because I at least cut it to the right size and managed not to slice any of my limbs off.
